This chat is privately owned and has a good reputation, built up over several years, for being a well mannered and friendly environment, safe for all ages. This reputation has been earned by the group of people who volunteer to moderate the chat and keep it that way. These moderators work in their free time in chat, to ensure that abusive, offensive or disruptive behaviour is kept out of our chat room. The moderators' decisions on this are final.
We do not allow asl or similar questions to be asked in our chat room. If that's what you're looking for, please go elsewhere. It is, however, perfectly acceptable to ask of others where they live, or are from, as this is of interest to us all.
We welcome any constructive comments on how we can improve our chat and these can be addressed to the Chat Administrator brianm@mweb.co.za.
The chat is an open forum for discussion on any topic. The common interest is, of course African Wildlife, but, as on a game drive, the chat amongst those interested is not restricted to the wildlife topic. As on a game drive, people get to know each other and the chat can be about anything you like, within the bounds of a family room. Those interested in talking about wildlife and asking questions are more than welcome, as we have many expert regulars in the chat room, who will be delighted to answer any questions you may have. Also, any questions, comments or suggestions about any of the host sites, or sites providing links here, can be answered, as we will maintain a close relationship with the host companies and can usually answer you, or pass on your suggestions.
Discussions are all free, as are opinions. Bear in mind, however, that it is a private room, run by volunteers and that you are guests here. Should any discussion start to get out of hand and become argumentative or abusive, then the moderators will act, as in any case of abusive, offensive or disruptive behaviour. Repeated offenses will not be tolerated. Note that disliking or disagreeing with hosts, or linked sites, or the way the chat room is run should be directed to the appropriate email address. You are welcome also to discuss such matters in chat and obtain more information, but please do it politely ! It should be clear that insulting or undermining the chat moderators or individuals connected with hosts, linked sites , or the hosts or linked sites themselves, is not going to be considered acceptable or polite behaviour in our room.
Remember, the chat room belongs to us all and is a friendly and relaxing place to spend time. Your efforts to keep it this way do more than anything the moderators can ever do.
Regards,
Brian
